WOMEN’S GOLF

Head Coach: Carl Phillips

Carl Phillips attended the University of Southern Mississippi on a golf scholarship and graduated in May of 1993. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration with minors in Coaching and Sports Administration, and Business Management. As a golfer, he became a four year letterman. After college he turned professional and played on various mini-tours and has also been a local golf professional at a few courses around south Florida. In 2000 he became the Southern Chapter Apprentice Player of the Year

Coach Phillips took over the McCarthy men’s team in 2003 and in the next year he started the women’s team from scratch. His women’s team won the State title in 2015 and has made the golf program at Archbishop McCarthy not only one of the top programs in Broward County, but in the state of Florida. Coach Phillips was named Coach of the Year by The Herald in 2006, 2009, 2013, and 2015. In 2015, he was named Florida Dairy Farmers 2A Girls Coach of the year and his team became State Champions for the first time in the school’s history.
