Head Coach – Desiree Staiano
Desiree Staiano has been coaching cheerleading for over 20 years. Her squads have won sixteen 1st place titles, six 2nd place titles, and two 3rd place titles. This is her 8th season with the Maverick competition cheer squad. The competition squad has advanced from the Regional level to States in all prior years. Coach Staiano holds AACCA certifications in stunting and spirit safety. In addition, she is concussion, cardiac arrest, sports nutrition, first aid & CPR trained. Coach Staiano is also a UCA/NCA certified judge. Mrs. Staiano is currently the Network Administrator at Archbishop McCarthy High School.
Practice Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday 4:30 to 6:30 pm / Wednesday 4 to 6 pm
2016-2017 Competition Results:
- Placed 4th in the Florida High School Athletic Association Regional Cheer Competition. Advanced to the Florida High School Athletic Association state cheer competition. Placed 2nd in the semi-finals and 4th in the state in the Medium non-tumbling division.
2017-2018 Competition Results:
- 2017-2018 Florida Cheer & Dance Association School & Rec Competition – Placed 1st in division and earned the Grand Champion award for best overall performance.
- 2017-2018 Chase the State Invitational – Placed 2nd in division.
- 2018 Florida Cheer & Dance East Coast Challenge – Placed 1st and earned the Grand Champion award for best overall performance.
- 2017-2018 Florida High School Athletic Association Region 4 Regional cheerleading competition – Placed 4th in division. Advanced to the Florida High School Athletic Association state cheerleading competition semi-finals.
- 2018 Florida Cheer & Dance Miami Meltdown – Placed 1st and earned the Grand Champion award for best overall performance.
2018-2019 Competition Results:
- 2018 Florida Cheer & Dance Association East Coast Challenge – Placed 2nd in division.
- 2018 Florida Cheer & Dance Association Miami Sunfest – Placed 1st Place and earned the Grand Champion award for best overall performance.
