Head Coach – Byron Walker

Coach Walker began coaching in 1976 at Glades Day School, where he remained until 1991. He joined the staff at American Heritage, Plantation, from 1992 to 2010. In 2010, he became the Head Coach at Archbishop McCarthy High School. Some of his individual accomplishments are Broward County Coach of the Year 12 times, State Coach of the year 3 times, and FACA Hall of Fame Class of 2003. As head coach, his teams appeared in nine State Final Champions, winning the title three times. Coach Walker was the head coach in Florida/Georgia All-Star game twice and the Florida North/South game twice. In 2015, The Mavericks finished the season with a record of 11-0 and won the Gold Coast Football Conference Championship.
